Our 2025 Fragrance Predictions

Whilst the beauty industry has seen some volatility this year, I think we can all agree that one thing people never compromise on is smelling. Whilst people have been taking shortcuts to save money, swapping out high-end for the drugstore dupe - smelling good is always top of everyone’s lists. But, we can already see it - in 2025, the fragrance industry will see a significant transformation, influenced by shifting priorities and spending habits. Not to mention the ever-changing social media trends and the hashtag ‘TikTok made me do it’. As we move into 2025, affordability and practicality are shaping everyone’s buying decisions - ours in the Bbare HQ too! - paving the way for new trends that redefine luxury and accessibility. Here are our top predictions for the fragrance industry next year.

So what’s to come, and what’s on the chopping block?

A Decline in High-End Fragrance Spending

As costs of living crisis challenges continue on (for everyone’s sake, we hope this gets better in the next year!), fewer people are spending on high-end fragrances. More people  are prioritising essential purchases and looking for more affordable alternatives to luxury fragrances. Smelling good shouldn’t have to be expensive - and that’s what most are beginning to realise! Especially when drug stores like Superdrug and Boots offer body sprays for as little as 99p. Albeit, the quality may be lacking but for a quick vanilla spritz, sometimes people just don’t mind. This trend is reshaping how brands position themselves, with many high-end names now offering smaller-sized products or entry-level options to retain their market share. But besides that, there’s also newcomers on the market (big foam finger pointing to us) who specialise in other solutions for feeling and smelling luxurious.

The Rise of Dupe Fragrances

Dupe fragrances, which mimic high-end scents at a fraction of the cost, are gaining popularity - especially with influencers promoting lower priced items that don’t compromise on quality. These budget-friendly alternatives allow people to still enjoy the essence of luxury without breaking the bank and spending a pretty penny. As quality improves, dupe fragrances are closing the gap between affordable options and the original designer counterparts, making them a staple in the fragrance routines of many.

Sweet Smelling Fragrances

In the new year, expect more sweet, soft, and delicate fragrances to dominate the beauty scene, reflecting the growing influence of the clean girl aesthetic. This year, we were dominated with Sol De Janeiro’s 71 mist and Lush’s Sticky Dates Spray, but next year is all about Bbare’s Golden Bee and Vanilla Rose scents. The ‘clean girl aesthetic’ emphasises effortless beauty and minimalist luxury, and will inspire an uptick in light, floral, and vanilla-based scents in 2025.

Perfume Balms

Amidst the shift towards affordability, perfume balms, like our perfume pods that most of you know and love, are emerging as an effective and innovative alternative to traditional spray perfumes. These solid perfumes mix practicality with luxury, which is the focus for 2025.

Our little pods are the perfect size to take with you on the go, offering subtle hints of freshness whenever you need them. It’s the small things that leave a lasting and luxurious impression. Our organic perfume balm lasts an impressive three times longer than a spritz of standard perfume. This is because the balm accentuates the notes as it settles into the skin on a deeper level, creating a rich, enduring scent experience. Simply use your fingertips to apply the balm to your pulse points and enjoy its full effect.

The Takeaway

In 2025, the fragrance industry is embracing change, with affordability and innovation driving new trends. As more people discover alternatives like dupe fragrances and our perfume pods, the definition of luxury is evolving. Our organic perfume balms offer the perfect, practical solution for smelling good, and feeling better.
